Manchester United have made it a habit of signing Real Madrid stars in recent times. In the summer of 2021, they managed to sign Raphael Varane. Then last summer, they got a deal over the line for Casemiro almost out of the blue. And it looks like the Red Devils might try to make it three in a row next time around.

One player that Manchester United have been linked with quite a bit is Federico Valverde. Some rumours have suggested that the Red Devils have tried to sign him in the past. And they could go back for him next summer.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the English press assures that Manchester United have €80 million ready to try to sign Valverde this summer. But it is believed that it will not be enough for Real Madrid to let go of the Uruguayan.

Real Madrid are not under any pressure to let Valverde leave anytime soon. He is just 24 years of age and has plenty of time to get better, even though the Uruguayan is already a nailed on starter for Carlo Ancelotti’s side. On top of that, his current deal runs till the summer of 2027.

It is safe to say that Valverde is one of Real Madrid’s most important players right now and the club should not even contemplate the idea of letting him go.

The Uruguayan international was arguably the best midfielder on the planet for a few months early on in this season, when he was completely unplayable and scoring for fun from long range.

Admittedly, his form has been on the downturn in recent weeks, but that cannot take away from his incredibly high ceiling. Once Valverde is able to find some consistency, he will be amongst the best midfielders on the planet.
