The managerial merry-go-round has continued in the Premier League. Leeds United have recently shown the exit door to Jesse Marsch. He had guided them to safety last season, after taking over from Marcelo Bielsa. But this time around, The Peacocks find themselves in another relegation struggle. And it appears that the club wanted a Real Madrid coach to replace the American in the dugout.

Raul Gonzalez has done a brilliant job coaching Real Madrid Castilla, and it is clear that his work has not gone unnoticed.

Some have even touted him as a future Real Madrid manager at the senior level, and it looks like Leeds United wanted him to be the successor to Marsch.

As reported by AS, Raul has declined an offer from Leeds United to become Marsch’s successor in the last few hours. The timing is not ideal and that has put him off. The Real Madrid legend does not want to leave the club in the middle of the season.

Raul is one of the greatest players in the history of Real Madrid and he is showing a lot of potential in coaching as well. That does not mean that he will get the chance to manage the senior team some day, but there is always the chance.

Leeds United are a big club for sure, but it would not make much sense for Raul to leave Castilla and join them at this point of time.

First of all, it is very possible that they could get relegated this season. And also, the club have struggled over the past couple of seasons now. This is going to be their third manager within the course of 12 months. Thus, it just does not seem like the right fit for Raul at this point of time.
