Real Madrid got past the Club World Cup semi-final with a 4-1 win over Al Ahly. The scoreline does not really tell the whole story of the game though. There was just a goal between the two sides until the 92nd minute, before Rodrygo found the back of the net and put it to bed. Sergio Arribas would grab a late goal as well. Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde were the other two scorers for Los Blancos on the day.

While it might not have been a dominant performance, they got the result that they were looking for, and that is all that matters in these games. Now, they will take on Al-Hilal in the final of the Club World Cup at the weekend.

There could be a surprise double boost for Real Madrid heading into that game though, as it looks like Karim Benzema and Eder Militao are set to join the group. Whether they will be available for the final or not, still remains to be seen.

As reported by AS, Ancelotti told the media after the match against Al Ahly:

"“Fully recovered, they are not. Karim is doing quite well; Militao, with more doubts. On Friday, in the run-up, we will make decisions.”"

Real Madrid could be handed unexpected double boost before Club World Cup final vs Al-Hilal

Both Benzema and Militao are starters for Real Madrid. Thus, if they are available for the final, even as options on the bench, it would be a major boost for Ancelotti’s side.

At the same time though, there is a long season left to be played and if there is any doubt about the fitness of either, then the best step would be to not take any risks and focus on getting them back in action after the Club World Cup.

While Real Madrid did not put in a great performance vs Al Ahly in the semis, the four goals were a positive for sure, and hopefully, that will set the tone for the final.
