Real Madrid are interested in Tottenham Hotspur star

Real Madrid have been linked with a number of high profile names in recent times as it is pretty clear that they need to strengthen their squad. At the same time though, they did not make any additions to their roster in the January transfer window. The upcoming summer will hopefully be a different story and we will see new faces walk in through the Santiago Bernabeu door.

One area of the squad that needs reinforcements as soon as possible is striker. Karim Benzema might still be a brilliant player but he is 35 years of age, and has had to deal with several injury problems already this season.

The club do not have much in the name of back up for Benzema though. Mariano Diaz is the only other recognised striker in the squad and he is expected to leave in the summer, when his contract runs out. Rodrygo has been used as a false nine on several occasions but that is not his best position.

It looks like the club have a Tottenham Hotspur player in their sights though. As reported by ESPN, Real Madrid are tracking Richarlison as an option to strengthen their attack.

Richarlison is someone that Carlo Ancelotti will already know well from his time at Everton. The Brazilian was one of his best players at the Merseyside club.

He made a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer for a transfer package believed to be around £60 million. He has failed to make much of an impact for Antonio Conte’s side till now though.

But there is no question about his qualities and the Brazilian striker could most probably do a good job for Real Madrid. Whether he is good enough to be Los Blancos’ number one striker is a different discussion.
