Real Madrid have had the best midfield in football for almost a decade. But now, it looks like it might be time for a bit of a rebuild. We have already seen Casemiro leave for Manchester United in the summer. On the other hand, question marks have been raised about Luka Modric’s contract extension after a downturn in form after the World Cup. And there have been suggestions that Toni Kroos could decide to retire at the end of the season.
Real Madrid have some great players for the future in the midfield in the form of Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde. Dani Ceballos has been an unexpected hero in recent weeks as well.
The club will need some experience in the middle of the park as well, if Modric or Kroos or both, end up departing at the end of this campaign. And it looks like they have a Croatian international in their sights.
As reported by Calciomercatoweb.it, rumours from Spain speak of a strong interest of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid in Marcelo Brozovic. The Inter Milan midfielder seems to be viewed as a potential replacement for his compatriot Luka Modric.
Real Madrid interested in midfielder also wanted by Barcelona
Brozovic has been linked with a number of clubs in recent times, as it looks like he could potentially be on his way out of Inter Milan in the summer. These include Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Juventus and others.
Brozovic has been a key part of Inter Milan’s starting XI for years. But this season, he has struggled with injury problems. In his absence, the Italian club’s results have not really suffered though.
As a result, rumours have suggested that Inter Milan are considering parting ways with the Croatian midfielder. He is 30 years of age and has a contract that runs until the summer of 2026.
