AC Milan could make bigger offer to Real Madrid player

There are a number of players at Real Madrid right now, whose current deals are running out in the summer. Some are key to this team, who the club must do their best to keep at Santiago Bernabeu. On the other hand, there are others whose exits would not make a huge difference. And finally, there are some, whose futures are up in the air at the moment.

Marco Asensio appears to fall under that category. He is still a contributor in Carlo Ancelotti’s side but not a regular starter by any means.

Asensio is a reliable impact substitute though. And he is proven in La Liga as well. Thus, extending the Spaniard’s contract would make sense for Real Madrid, instead of going out and trying to find a replacement for his role in the team. Some rumours have suggested that they have made an offer to him already.

There is no lack of interest in Asensio’s signature though. He has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League. And it looks like Italian giants, AC Milan, are looking to sign him as well.

As reported by Calciomercato, AC Milan remain very interested in Asensio. They could match or slightly exceed Real Madrid’s offer to him.

Of course, it remains to be seen what Asensio decides to do. He has stated in the past that he is open to the idea of continuing at Real Madrid.

At the same time though, he could have better opportunities elsewhere in terms of his individual development. He is not a starter at Real Madrid and is not expected to be one anytime soon either. On the other hand, he could get more regular playing time at a number of other top clubs across Europe.
