Chelsea have made an incredible splash in the transfer market since their change in ownership. The club have brought in players like Wesley Fofana, Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Mykhailo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile, Enzo Fernandez, Joao Felix, on loan from Atletico Madrid, and several others over the course of the last two windows. And it looks like they have set their eyes on one of Real Madrid’s players as well.

One complaint that Real Madrid fans have had in recent times is that the club’s highly-rated youth players have not been given a proper chance at the senior level. It remains to be seen if that will change over the course of the coming months or not.

Their defence has been questionable this season on numerous occasions. Yet, not one time have they looked towards Rafa Marin, who has been a standout at the youth levels for Real Madrid.

He is 20 years of age and his current deal runs out in the summer of 2024. As reported by AS, Chelsea and RB Leipzig are monitoring the situation of Marin with great interest.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Marin at Real Madrid. It is very surprising though that he has not made his debut at the senior level yet.

His numbers at the Castilla level are superb. And one would have thought that he would have been in the mix in the senior team by now, even if as a fourth or fifth-choice centre-back.

But he has not played a single minute of football for Real Madrid yet. With clubs like Chelsea and RB Leipzig also believed to be interested in him, it would not be a surprise if he started to think about a potential exit. And to be honest, nobody would blame Marin for doing that.
