Real Madrid must strengthen their squad next summer. The club made a brave decision of not making additions to their ranks in January and it remains to be seen how that turns out for them. But no matter what happens between now and the end of the season, it is quite clear that reinforcements are needed in several positions across the pitch for Los Blancos.

One such area might very well be right wing. Federico Valverde has played there most often this season, despite that not being his natural position. The Uruguayan international’s long-term future is expected to be in the middle of the park.

Real Madrid also have Rodrygo there. The future of Marco Asensio is up in the air though, and it is possible that he could leave in the summer, with his current deal set to run out at the end of the ongoing campaign.

As reported by ESPN, Real Madrid expect a busy summer of transfer business. And with Asensio’s future uncertain, they are considering bringing in a right-sided forward to provide competition for Rodrygo and Valverde, with Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman a potential target.

Coman has been linked with some of the biggest clubs across Europe for a long time, but has stayed put at Bayern Munich. The French international also signed a contract extension with the Bundesliga giants not too long ago, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2027.

Yet, Coman is not a nailed on starter for Bayern Munich. As a result, if a good offer was submitted, they could definitely consider the idea of letting him go.

At the same time though, one has to wonder whether Coman would be the right signing for Real Madrid. He has never quite made the jump from wonderkid to world-class and will turn 27 this summer.

It is expected to take a significant transfer fee to sign Coman from Bayern Munich. Is he good enough to be a starter for Real Madrid though?
