Real Madrid have a number of exciting young players on their hands right now, who could be big parts of this team’s future. It feels like that is the direction that the club are moving in as well and want to build a team not just for now but for the next decade to come. The likes of Vinicius Junior, Fede Valverde, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and others will hopefully be a part of that.
There are some others out on loan, who could potentially make an impact in the Royal White jersey as well, when they return to Santiago Bernabeu. One name that comes to mind immediately in that regard is that of Brahim Diaz.
Brahim is currently out on loan at AC Milan and is certainly making his presence felt. He scored the winner in their 1-0 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg win over Tottenham Hotspur.
And as reported by The Athletic, Brahim is close to signing a new deal at Real Madrid that will keep him at the club until 2027. His current contract runs until the end of June 2025. Both the club and the player have reached an agreement in principle to extend it for two more years.
Real Madrid are close to agreeing contract extension
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Brahim has scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists in 26 appearances for AC Milan this season till now.
While not exactly eye catching numbers, he is certainly showing a lot of potential. Also at 23 years of age, he has plenty of room for improvement.
Also, with the lack of options all across the pitch for Real Madrid at this point of time, he could certainly play a role for Los Blancos, even if he is not a starter from the get go. Let’s see what the future holds.
