Real Madrid managed to get a 2-0 win away against Osasuna to keep the La Liga title race alive. They now sit five points behind Barcelona, after having played a game more than their rivals. Xavi’s side will take to the Camp Nou pitch against Cadiz this weekend, and let’s see if they slip up on the occasion.

Real Madrid have done their job though and put some pressure on Barcelona. At this point, that is all that Carlo Ancelotti’s side can do, after the gap that has opened up between the two sides.

Their performance against Osasuna was not particularly impressive but Real Madrid stepped up when it looked like the game was headed for a goalless draw. Federico Valverde and Marco Asensio found the back of the net, while Vinicius Junior had a goal ruled out by VAR.

Eduardo Camavinga put in another great performance as well and Ancelotti reserved some special praise for him after the game. As reported by Real Madrid’s official website, the manager said about the French youngster:

"“He’s playing really well, we’re delighted with him. His physical attributes are fantastic wherever we play him. He was brilliant defensively and his energy helped make the difference alongside Valverde.”"

It is impressive how Camavinga has turned his season around. In the first half of the campaign, he was struggling for minutes on the pitch and was not making much of an impact in the chances that he was getting.

There were even some calls for him to be sent out on loan in order to accelerate his development, as he was not getting enough chances at Real Madrid.

Things have changed drastically after the World Cup break though. Camavinga has been absolutely superb over the last couple of months and at the moment, it might be time to start considering him as a regular starter for the club.

He has shown tremendous versatility as well, putting up top class performances at both left-back and in the middle of the park.
