Real Madrid have not been very active in recent transfer windows. One position that they have strengthened though is centre-back. In the summer of 2021, they brought in David Alaba on a free transfer, after his contract ran out at Bayern Munich. And last summer, they brought in Antonio Rudiger on a similar deal, as he departed Chelsea.
The club already have the likes of Nacho Fernandez, Eder Militao and Jesus Vallejo as well. And yet, their defence has remained questionable.
Thus, the club might need to strengthen in the heart of defence once again in the future. And it looks like they have their eyes on a player who is considered by many as the most talented centre-back in Serie A right now.
As reported by Calciomercatoweb (via The Hard Tackle), Alessandro Bastoni is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. He is viewed as a long-term replacement for David Alaba. Meanwhile, Inter Milan will look for a transfer fee around €60 million to part ways with the Italian international.

Tottenham Hotspur have signed players from Serie A frequently, since Antonio Conte has become the manager of the club. And they have been heavily linked with a move for Bastoni in recent times.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Bastoni. He is still just 23 years of age and appears to have a bright future ahead of him, considering the interest in his signature.
It is not hard to understand why so many top teams are interested in him either. Bastoni has been absolutely superb in recent years and been a standout performer for Inter Milan, who have enjoyed a bit of a resurgence over the last few seasons and won quite a bit of silverware too.
