Real Madrid’s biggest problem this season has been their inability to remain injury free for any consistent length of time. Rarely has Carlo Ancelotti gotten the chance to pick a starting XI, that is anywhere close to full-strength. On the other hand, we are already aware of their lack of depth in multiple positions across the pitch.

All things considered, it has been a recipe for disaster for Real Madrid. And to be honest, the club deserve enough credit for still competing in all three competitions. There are several other teams who would have crumbled if faced with similar circumstances.

Their next game is a very important one too, as they welcome Atletico Madrid to Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid have already gotten the better of their city rivals on two occasions this season.

But heading into this derby, they have been handed a couple of fresh injury problems. It looks like neither David Alaba nor Rodrygo will be available to take on Atletico Madrid.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Alaba will be out of the field for about a month. And Rodrygo will be on the sidelines for about ten days.

It is safe to say that both will be big misses for the match against Atletico Madrid. They have been in and around the starting XI for the entire season.

On top of that, Aurelien Tchouameni did not make the squad for the game against Liverpool either. And it remains to be seen if he will recover in time to feature against Atletico Madrid.

All things considered, Real Madrid are in a terrible position right now, when it comes to the fitness situation of their players. Yet, the club do not know what it is to give up and seem to be pushing on ahead.
