Real Madrid have been linked with some of the most highly-rated young talents in world football in recent times. Unsurprisingly, there are plenty of other clubs interested in players of that calibre as well. And it looks like Manchester United have joined the race for a striker that Los Blancos have been eyeing lately.

Striker has become a position of immediate need for Real Madrid. Karim Benzema remains one of the best in the world when on the pitch. Unfortunately, he is 35 years of age and has been struggling with a long list of injuries. On the other hand, Mariano Diaz is the only other recognised centre-forward in the squad and he looks set to leave at the end of the campaign, when his contract runs out.

Thus, Real Madrid could do with another striker and if rumours are to be believed, one player who has caught their eye in recent times is Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta. The 20-year-old Danish international has been making quite the impression in Serie A lately.

There is plenty of other clubs interested in the youngster as well. As reported by Tipsbladet, Juventus, AC Milan, Real Madrid and Napoli are already well-described admirers of Hojlund. And the list has another name, Manchester United, who are very interested in the striker.

Hojlund turned 20 just this month. But he is already catching eyes, with his performances for Atalanta and has managed to establish himself as a regular starter for the Serie A club.

Hojlund might have made a slow start to life in Italy but he has come into his own lately, and scored 5 goals in his last 8 Serie A appearances for the club. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists in 21 appearances for Atalanta, while playing 1106 minutes of football in total.

Hojlund’s ability to find the back of the net as well as his physicality up top, have drawn comparisons with Erling Haaland. And unsurprisingly, it has also led to links with some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
