Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent times as it is clear that this squad needs reinforcements in several positions across the pitch. The upcoming summer transfer window promises to be a big one for Los Blancos and their top target is believed to be Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund.
It is not hard to see why Real Madrid might hold an interest in Bellingham. He is arguably the most in-demand talent in all of football right now. Clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, PSG and Chelsea are also believed to have an eye out for him though.
As a result, it will be very difficult for Real Madrid to get a deal done for Bellingham. But his transfer might have a domino effect, and could lead Los Blancos to another midfielder.
If Liverpool are to sign Bellingham, they might have to let one of their midfielders go. And rumours coming out of Spain are linking Real Madrid with a move for Fabinho, who is rated at a transfer value around €70 million.
Real Madrid linked with summer move for key Liverpool starter
Fabinho has been a key player for Liverpool for quite some time now and is a proven winner, with experience at the top level. Thus, he might be a good addition for Real Madrid, especially if the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric end up departing at the end of this campaign.
At the same time though, it is hard to see the club shell out a transfer fee around €70 million for a 29-year-old defensive midfielder. Thus, it remains to be seen there is substance to the rumours or not.
The best case scenario for Real Madrid would be getting a deal done for Bellingham. At the same time, they must have alternative targets.
