Real Madrid have had a number of injury problems throughout the course of the campaign. In fact, that has been their biggest issue and the team deserve a lot of credit for how well they have done till now, considering the circumstances. Their depth had been in question from the very beginning and that has been tested further in recent times. Yet, they are still competing in all three competitions.
One player who has been relatively fit this season, especially when compared to his other seasons at Real Madrid, is Eden Hazard. And yet, he has barely featured for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
It is hard to remember the last time Hazard played competitive football for Real Madrid. And his last appearance in La Liga came back in September. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 7 appearances and played 296 minutes in total this season.
As reported by SPORT, Hazard has not played for almost two months and his future inevitably points to an exit next summer.
€160 million Real Madrid player looks set to leave this summer
Hazard is a Premier League legend and was one of the best players in the world when he was at Chelsea. Thus, Real Madrid fans were delighted when the club agreed a transfer package believed to be around €160 million to sign him.
It was seen as a major coup, and Hazard was viewed as the man who would be the face of Real Madrid team. Unfortunately, things have not worked out like that.
Hazard has never even managed to establish himself in the Real Madrid starting XI, struggling with one injury after another. And at this point of time, him leaving would be the best step for all parties involved. There would still be a year left on his contract in the summer though and let’s see if a move transpires or not.
