Real Madrid have been on a poor run of form lately. The historic 5-2 win away at Anfield against Liverpool had raised hopes that they could pick up some momentum and finish the campaign strong. But the results since then have been very disappointing to say the least, as they have not won a single game.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side could only manage a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu even though Diego Simeone’s team were down to ten men. Then they lost at home to Barcelona, even though they were missing key players like Robert Lewandowski, Pedri and Ousmane Dembele. And Real Betis held them to a goalless draw as well.

Amidst all this, it looks like Marco Asensio is not happy with his situation. He only appeared for a few minutes at Anfield, and was left on the bench as an unused substitute against both Barcelona and Real Betis. The Spaniard did start against Atletico Madrid but his performance was not good at all.

As reported by SPORT, Asensio and his environment are disappointed with the latest sporting decisions of Ancelotti. The footballer is seriously rethinking his future.

Asensio had played his way back into the team over the course of the season and found some decent form lately. But now, it looks like he might be once again out of the picture, with Real Madrid struggling for form.

Asensio’s current deal runs out in the summer. And it is still unclear whether he will remain at Santiago Bernabeu or move away from the club. Rumours have suggested that Los Blancos are interested in handing him a new deal under the right conditions.

Let’s see what the future holds for Asensio. And whether Ancelotti will give him more regular minutes moving forward.
