Real Madrid have a number of tough and important decisions to make over the coming weeks. A number of them surround the contract situations of players. There are several in the current squad whose deals run out at the end of the campaign, even though they continue to play roles in Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
One player who falls under that category is Real Madrid veteran Nacho Fernandez. A true one club man, the Spaniard has never pulled on a different jersey, having come through the youth ranks at the club.
For the first time in his career, a Santiago Bernabeu exit looks possible though. As the season has progressed, he has played more frequently though and it would make sense for Los Blancos to hold onto Nacho beyond this campaign.
It does not seem like there is any lack of interest in his signature though. As reported by Fichajes (via The Hard Tackle), Nacho is the subject of interest from Inter Milan. The Serie A giants want to complete a free transfer for the experienced Real Madrid defender.
Inter Milan want to sign Real Madrid player on free transfer
It is not hard to see why a club like Inter Milan might be interested in Nacho. Firstly, the Spaniard can still perform at a high level and has actually been one of Real Madrid’s better players in recent weeks.
Also, he has a ton of experience at the very top level and possesses incredible versatility as well, capable of playing across the backline. Thus, signing someone like Nacho could be a masterstroke for many clubs across Europe.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for him at Real Madrid. But considering the circumstances and the state of the squad, Nacho staying might be the best case scenario for the club.
