3 midfielders Real Madrid could sign instead of Jude Bellingham

Wirtz is not a name mentioned with regards to a Real Madrid transfer often, but it definitely should be. The 19-year-old German has been a sensation for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Wirtz is naturally an attacking midfielder, but is also dynamic enough, and possesses the skills to play as a second striker or even a winger. He is only 19 years of age, and has a transfer value around €70 million.

Wirtz could be a long-term option for Real Madrid to transform their team. There were some question marks about whether he would be the same player after his return from a long-term injury this season. But he is still operating at a high level and is a special talent without doubt.

Youri Tielemans

Tielemans is a bit of a wild card option for Real Madrid to consider. He is believed to have a transfer value around €40 million, however, he looks set to become a free agent this coming summer, with his Leicester City deal coming up.

The 25-year-old Belgian international has had some shining moments with Leicester City. That includes a winner against Chelsea in the FA Cup final a few years back.

Tielemans is a central midfielder, much like the position Toni Kroos occupies now at Real Madrid. The Belgian can play a bit further up or down the pitch, if the situation calls for it.

Tielemans has been linked with moves to several top European clubs in the past but none of those rumours have come to anything. The Belgian would definitely be an out of the box signing but one that should be on Real Madrid’s potential wish list.

At the end of the day, Bellingham would obviously be an amazing signing for Real Madrid. But with the squad somewhat lacking in other areas, it would be smart to look at alternatives, and invest the money all across the pitch.
