It seems that the Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid rumours will never go away. Los Blancos have tried and failed in the past to sign the French World Cup winner from Paris Saint-Germain. The club were believed to be close to signing him on a free transfer in 2022, before PSG were able to convince him to extend for two more years with the option for a third.

However, rumours since then have emerged that Mbappe is thinking about his future once again. This has led to renewed speculation over the Frenchman and reignited the links to Real Madrid.

Mbappe seems destined to be a Real Madrid player one day. And after PSG’s elimination from the UEFA Champions League, next summer could be the time for Los Blancos to make a move.

The La Liga president has given his take on the matter as well. While speaking to Vamos and as reported by GOAL, Javier Tebas said:

"“In La Liga, the only club that can buy Mbappe is Real Madrid. I’d like to see him in the league.”"

Now, as the President of La Liga, it makes sense for Tebas to want a player like Mbappe playing in the league. The league has lost quite a bit of its global popularity in recent years, now that a superstar like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi is not in Spain.

Given the current situation at Barcelona, it is unlikely they would be able to sign Mbappe. That would leave Real Madrid as the only realistic destination for him in La Liga.

As with the past few summer transfer windows, there will be much talk and speculation about Mbappe’s future. And having having failed to win a Champions League in his six seasons at PSG, it would not come as a surprise if the Frenchman looks for a move away from the club. Let’s see what the future holds for him.
