After several relatively quiet seasons, Real Madrid fans are hoping that the club end up making a splash in the upcoming summer transfer window, with the squad clearly in need of a bit of a rebuild. All the rumours appear to be pointing in a positive direction, with Los Blancos being linked with some of the biggest names in Europe right now.

The names of Dusan Vlahovic, Josko Gvardiol, Gabri Veiga, Bruno Guimaraes and several others have been floated about as potential targets for Real Madrid. But out of all of them, Jude Bellingham is believed to be their top priority for the summer.

It is not hard to understand why that might be the case. At 19 years of age, Bellingham might already be the best player in the Bundesliga. He also looked like England’s best performer at the recent World Cup. And there is every chance that he could develop into the greatest midfielder of his generation.

Of course, with that kind of potential, it should come as no surprise that some of Europe’s biggest clubs, other than Real Madrid, are also interested in signing Bellingham. And the race for his signature might have just gotten tougher.

As reported by The Telegraph (via talkSPORT), Manchester United have now joined the race for Bellingham’s signature.

Initially, Manchester United were not believed to be one of the clubs with a great chance of landing Bellingham. But they have been a team on the rise under the management of Erik ten Hag, ending a half-a-decade long wait for a trophy recently by winning the League Cup.

That, combined with their history and global popularity, might make them an attractive destination for Bellingham. Thus, it might have just become even more difficult for Real Madrid to sign the Borussia Dortmund star.
