Real Madrid have quite a few players right now, whose long-term futures at Santiago Bernabeu are uncertain. For many of them, this might even be their last few months of playing in the Royal White jersey and they could be on their way out in the summer. One player whose current situation is very confusing is Brahim Diaz.
Brahim has spent several seasons out on loan at AC Milan. And he has impressed at the San Siro. One has to question whether he has been good enough to earn a starting spot in Real Madrid’s team.
On the other hand, there is some significant interest in his signature. Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle United are believed to be keeping tabs on Brahim’s situation. On the other hand, AC Milan want to keep him at San Siro beyond this campaign as well. But there seems to be bad news for all of those chasing the signature of the Spaniard.
As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are preparing the final details of the proposal to extend Brahim’s deal in the next months.
Chelsea, Newcastle United, AC Milan and Liverpool handed blow by Real Madrid
Brahim has been pretty good at AC Milan. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists in 31 appearances this season till now.
Those are not eye-catching numbers but still good. His overall play has been solid as well. And it looks like Real Madrid are happy enough with his development to hand him a new deal.
He is still just 23 years of age, and there is plenty of room and time for further development moving forward. On the other hand, his versatility makes Brahim a valuable player as well. The Spaniard can play as an attacking midfielder as well as on the wings, depending upon the situation.
