Real Madrid need in bring in reinforcements all over the pitch in the summer. Which is their biggest area of need? That is a difficult question to answer but striker definitely has to be up there. Karim Benzema might be the current Ballon d’Or holder, but he has struggled with one injury after another throughout the campaign. Rumours have suggested that he is not at a 100 per cent even now. Clearly, his form has been affected by these problems.

Unfortunately, the club do not have any real depth at striker. Mariano Diaz is not a big part of Carlo Ancelotti’s rotation and is expected to leave in the summer, when his current deal runs out.

On the other hand, Alvaro might be a superb talent but he is just 18 years of age and needs to be allowed time to settle into the senior game. Putting him under pressure from the get go would not be the right thing for his development.

Thus, Real Madrid should sign another striker in the summer. And it looks like they have their eyes set on a breakout star from Ligue 1.

Real Madrid interested in signing €60 million striker

As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Jonathan David is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. Lille will demand €60 million to part ways with the Canadian striker.

David has been in tremendous form this season. He has scored 19 Ligue 1 goals in the ongoing campaign already. And that’s despite the fact that Lille have not been at their best, and sit at 6th in the league table.

David’s scoring record at the international level for Canada is superb as well. And at 23 years of age, he is only expected to get better moving forward. Thus, it is not hard to understand why Real Madrid might be interested in the Lille star.
