Real Madrid might be in search of a new manager soon, with Carlo Ancelotti walking the managerial tightrope at this point of time. They have fallen twelve points behind Barcelona in the La Liga title race and are in a losing position in the Copa del Rey semi finals ahead of an away second leg. Their best chance at silverware might be the Champions League, which sounds ridiculous and yet makes sense. The club have already won it 14 times after all.

On the other hand, the 2-1 defeat at Camp Nou at the weekend marked the club’s third straight defeat at the hands of Barcelona. That is never a good situation to be in for a Real Madrid manager.

If Real Madrid finish the season trophyless, it is almost certain that Ancelotti would be shown the exit door. There is another subplot to this thing though. The manager has also been heavily linked with the Brazil national team job as well.

Ultimately, if Ancelotti was to leave at the end of the season, who would be the one to replace him? Some rumours had suggested that Real Madrid could look for a reunion with Jose Mourinho. But it looks like that is not the case after all.

Real Madrid have made Mourinho return decision

As reported by MARCA, Real Madrid do not contemplate the return of Mourinho even though they maintain affection and respect for him.

Once the best manager in the world, Mourinho’s career has been on a bit of a downturn in recent years. Underwhelming spells at Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been followed by his current stint at AS Roma.

Mourinho has done a decent job in Rome, even guiding them to the UEFA Europa Conference League last season. A return to Real Madrid does not seem to be on the cards though.
