Carlo Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid is up in the air. The Italian overdelivered on expectations last season, guiding them to a Champions League and La Liga double. Unfortunately, things have not gone as smoothly this time around. Their league hopes are as good as over, after falling twelve points behind Barcelona. They seem to be on the verge of being knocked out from Copa del Rey as well. And Europe might be their best of chance of winning silverware.

If Real Madrid end up going trophyless, then there is a good chance that Ancelotti would be shown the exit door. On the other hand, he has been linked with the Brazil national team job recently as well.

As a result, Real Madrid might find themselves in need of a new manager soon. And it appears that they have three options in their sights, in case Ancelotti is no longer at the club come next season.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on his Instagram, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino and Raul are among the options for Real Madrid in case of Ancelotti’s departure at the end of the season. But nothing has been decided yet.

Tuchel is without a club right now, having been shown the exit door by Chelsea earlier this season. The German is one of the best tacticians in world football though and could be a good fit for this Real Madrid team, who need someone to get the most out of the least.

Pochettino is also a free agent at the moment. And the Argentine has been linked with Real Madrid several times in the past. His last stint was at PSG.

Finally, Raul is managing at the Castilla level right now. He has impressed there and appears to be a candidate to take over the senior team, if Ancelotti departs.
