Real Madrid have been linked with a number of different players recently and with some just reason to it. With the rocky form that the club have endured in this season, it is evident that the squad is in need of a bit of a revamp and some fresh new faces in the upcoming summer transfer window.
With a number of players out of contract in the summer, and some players getting up there in age, it could be time to start looking for new faces to bring in in order to secure the future of the club.
Real Madrid has always been know for the big money Galactico signings, but in recent times, we have seen that signing players for smaller transfer fees could be the way to go. And it seems that the club have their eyes set on a potential signing.
As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, top Premier League clubs and Real Madrid have sent their scouts to watch Gabri Veiga multiple times.
Would €40 million player be a good signing for Real Madrid?
Veiga is a 20-year-old midfielder who plays for Celta Vigo and he could possibly be the next youngster to don the royal white shirt of Real Madrid. He is believed to have a release clause around €40 million in his contract.
Veiga plays in the role of both a central midfielder as well as an attacking midfielder, and is a perfect player to fill in for either Luka Modric or Toni Kroos. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has registered 9 goals and 3 assists in his 25 La Liga appearances for Celta Vigo this season.
Jude Bellingham is obviously the bigger name signing that most fans have on their minds, but Veiga is not a bad alternative, and with a much lower transfer value, it would save funds to reinvest in other parts of the squad that need fixing in the summer.
