Real Madrid continue to be linked with one player after another as it is quite clear that they need to bring in reinforcements in the summer. If there is one thing that has become clear through the course of the ongoing campaign, it is that Los Blancos do not have the depth to compete for all three major trophies and often end up relying on individual brilliance in big matches.

One area that Real Madrid might need to bring in immediate reinforcements is their midfield. The long-term futures of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Dani Ceballos are still uncertain, with their contracts running out in the summer.

One player that Real Madrid have been linked with recently is Gabri Veiga of Celta Vigo. The Spaniard has been a revelation in La Liga this season.

Of course, this has also led to interest from elsewhere. Rumours have suggested that clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested in Veiga. But there is some good news for Real Madrid.

Manchester United target prefers move to Real Madrid

As reported by Cadena SER, Veiga prefers Real Madrid over a transfer move to the Premier League.

Veiga currently plays for Celta Vigo and has been a breakout star for the club this season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 9 goals and provided 3 assists in 25 La Liga appearances in the ongoing campaign.

Veiga is still just 20 years of age and has plenty of room and time to improve further moving forward. On the other hand, it is believed that there is a release clause around €40 million in his deal with Celta Vigo.

Real Madrid could certainly do with a talent like Veiga, who could be a part of their midfield for many years to come. But will Los Blancos shell out a transfer fee around €40 million for the youngster?
