Real Madrid’s biggest need in the upcoming summer transfer window might very well be signing another striker. The recent form and fitness of Karim Benzema have certainly raised some concerns. The Frenchman was the best player in the world last season, but things have not gone nearly as smoothly this time around, as he has had to spend several spells out on the sidelines.
Another big problem for Real Madrid right now is the fact that they do not have any real back up option to Benzema. Neither Mariano Diaz nor Alvaro are ready to be the second-choice striker for Los Blancos.
As a result, Real Madrid could do with another striker right now. They have been linked with the likes of Dusan Vlahovic, Harry Kane and Erling Haaland already. But there appears to be another big name player in their sights.
As reported by Calciomercato, according to rumours in the Spanish media, Real Madrid is also monitoring Victor Osimhen.
Real Madrid interested in signing €150 million striker
Osimhen has been one of the best strikers in all of Europe this season. His form is one of the biggest reasons while Napoli are the runaway leaders in the Serie A table and are being considered as one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season. Not many people would have expected either of those things to happen at the start of the campaign.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Osimhen has scored 25 goals and provided 5 assists in 29 appearances for Napoli this season.
Thus, someone like Osimhen could be an excellent long-term signing for Real Madrid, as the Nigerian international striker just 24 years of age as well. But Napoli are notoriously difficult to negotiate with and rumours have suggested that they rate their star man at a transfer fee around €150 million. Thus, it will be tough to get a deal done.
