Chelsea ready £100 million bid for Real Madrid target

Real Madrid and Chelsea are preparing to face each other in the Champions League for the third straight season. Each team has come out on top once each over their previous two meetings, and it remains to be seen how things turn out this time around. They might find themselves competing with each other off the pitch as well though.

One of the players who has taken European football by storm this season is Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian striker has been very highly rated for a long time, but he has taken his game to the next level this season.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Osimhen has scored 25 goals and provided 5 assists in 29 appearances across all competitions for Napoli this season.

That kind of form has seen him being linked with a potential move to Real Madrid, who are badly in reinforcements up top at the moment, with Karim Benzema struggling with form and fitness while they have no real back up option to the Frenchman. But Chelsea seem to be readying a bid for Osimhen at the same time.

As reported by Football Insider, Chelsea are prepared to bid £100 million for Osimhen. He appears to be their top priority transfer target.

Of course, Chelsea are a team in need of a striker too. They signed Romelu Lukaku in a big money move last season but that did not work out, and he finds himself back on loan at Inter Milan already. On the other hand, the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has not worked out either.

Thus, it is not hard to see why Chelsea might be interested in signing Osimhen. Real Madrid have been linked with the Nigerian striker but it remains to be seen if they will make a push for him or not.
