Real Madrid’s squad depth is not the best. That has become clear through the course of the campaign, as they have struggled to perform at their peak level on a consistent basis. Of course, injuries have not helped the matter as well. But under ideal circumstances, fans would be hoping that they make multiple additions to their ranks in the summer.

One of the positions that seems to be in immediate need of reinforcements is striker. Karim Benzema’s form has taken a downturn this season, as he has struggled to remain fit for any consistent length of time.

On the other hand, the club do not have any real back up in that area of the pitch either. Neither Mariano Diaz nor Alvaro appear to be in a position where they can be the second-choice striker for Real Madrid at this point of time.

Thus, one can only hope that Real Madrid sign another striker in the summer. And one player who can be an excellent choice for that role is Jonathan David of Lille.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, David has scored 21 goals and provided 4 assists in 30 appearances for Lille. His numbers at the international level for Canada are excellent as well.

On top of that, David is just 23 years of age and thus, could be an excellent long-term signing for Real Madrid. It is believed that Lille could look for a transfer fee in the region of €60 million in order to part ways with him, which makes sense considering the modern day transfer market.

Of course, Real Madrid have been linked with plenty of other strikers as well, like Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Dusan Vlahovic and Victor Osimhen. But in their case, it would be more expensive as well as difficult to sign them.
