Real Madrid are set to meet Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League this season. This is the third straight campaign that the European giants are coming up against each other, with them winning one each of their previous two contests. On this occasion, Los Blancos have to be considered as the heavy favourites though.

Chelsea are going through a terrible campaign, having replaced Thomas Tuchel with Graham Potter. They sit at 10th in the Premier League table and it was a major surprise that they were able to get past Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 of the competition.

Chelsea do have some great players who Real Madrid will have to keep an eye out on though. One of them is Reece James. And it looks like Los Blancos will be looking at him for more reason than one.

As reported by AS, Real Madrid has drawn up a list of possible reinforcements that includes the name of James. But they know that signing him from Chelsea would be a complicated task.

On his day, James is arguably the best right-back in the world. He is great going forward and defensively as well. Real Madrid will know about his quality very well, considering how good he has been against them in the past.

One major issue that James does have though is his injury history. He does seem to pick up injuries often and has had to spend several spells out on the sidelines already in his young career. Thus, Real Madrid would have to keep that in mind before making any move.

On the other hand, it is believed that James has been earmarked as a future captain at Chelsea. Thus, they are not expected to be keen to let him go.
