Thomas Tuchel was believed to be one of the managers on the wishlist of Real Madrid as a potential replacement for Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian’s long-term future at the club remains in doubt as the club fail to build up any kind of form or momentum. If they end up finishing this campaign trophyless then it is likely that he would be shown the Santiago Bernabeu exit door for the second time in his storied career.

The rumours linking Tuchel to Real Madrid ultimately led nowhere though. The German coach instead recently replaced Julian Nagelsmann as the manager at Bayern Munich.

It appears that Tuchel might have already handed Real Madrid a transfer blow. And it revolves around the future of Alphonso Davies.

As reported by El Nacional (via GOAL), Tuchel has instructed Bayern Munich’s administration to not entertain any offers for Real Madrid target Davies.

Davies’ current deal with Bayern Munich runs till the summer of 2025. And he has been heavily linked with a potential move to Real Madrid in the future. Los Blancos, of course, could do with more options at left-back.

The club are already set to bring back Fran Garcia in the summer from Rayo Vallecano. But it seems that they could look for more reinforcements in that area of the pitch in the future as well, with Davies rumoured to be a potential target.

While breaking through the ranks at Bayern Munich, Davies was expected to be the best left-back in world football. And he is an impressive player for sure. At the same time though, it does feel like he has not quite had the rise that was expected of him. Fitness issues over the past couple of years have not helped either but a manager like Tuchel could unlock his true potential in the future.
