Real Madrid could let star leave for offer over €40 million
There are quite a few players whose futures at Real Madrid are uncertain at this point of time. Some are struggling to perform at a high level. Others have contracts which run out at the end of the season. And it remains to be seen what the club end up deciding to do over the coming months, with the summer transfer window not far away.
One player whose long-term future at Santiago Bernabeu is in doubt is Ferland Mendy. Now, the Frenchman has certainly played his part in the club’s triumphs in the past. But at the same time, there are problems surrounding him as well.
The biggest is his fitness record. Mendy has struggled to remain fit for any considerable length of time. It was only recently that he had returned from a medium-term injury, and he has already picked up another issue, which could keep him out of action for around six weeks.
On the other hand, there were question marks over his form this season, even before he was injured. Mendy might be great defensively but the Frenchman has never been good going forward.
Real Madrid could let star leave for offer over €40 million
As reported by El Debate, Real Madrid could think about a transfer for Mendy if an offer that exceeds €40 million is presented.
Despite of his issues, Mendy is still just 27 years of age. And if he was to leave Real Madrid, there should not be any lack of interest in his signature. In fact, clubs like Manchester City and Arsenal have been linked with a potential interest in the Frenchman.
On the other hand, Real Madrid are already set to strengthen their options at left-back in the summer. Fran Garcia is going to make a return to the club, after impressing at Rayo Vallecano.
