There are quite a few Real Madrid players whose futures at the club remain up in the air. Several contracts are set to run out at the end of the season and it remains to be seen what the club will decide to do regarding them over the coming months and weeks. Dani Ceballos is one such player whose future is uncertain at this point of time.
Ceballos has done a wonderful job to play his way into the team. For a while, he was Real Madrid’s best performer and continues to contribute, although he is back playing a role off the bench.
Ceballos’ contract is set to run out in the summer though. And if the Spaniard did end up leaving Real Madrid, it looks like there would not be a lack of interest in his signature.
As reported by The Athletic (via The Hard Tackle), Ceballos rejected an approach from Atletico Madrid during the international break.

It looks like Ceballos wants to remain at Real Madrid. But now, it remains to be seen whether the club will hand him an extension or not.
Ceballos has proven his value to this team over the course of the past few months. Thus, it would make sense for the club to extend his deal. It would not be a great idea to let a regular contributor walk out as a free agent in the summer, when they already have issues with lack of depth all across the pitch.
If Ceballos does end up leaving, there are expected to be plenty of suitors for his signature, especially after his recent form. Atletico Madrid have been linked with him for a while. On the other hand, there have been suggestions that Wolves are keeping an eye on the midfielder too.
