Real Madrid bounced back three straight El Clasico losses, to hand Barcelona a 4-0 defeat at Camp Nou, to book their place in the Copa del Rey final. Coming into the match, Carlo Ancelotti’s side were considered by most people as heavy underdogs. But if there is one thing that we have learned about this team over the past couple of seasons, it is that you can never count them out.

A hattrick from Karim Benzema and a strike from Vinicius Junior silenced the Camp Nou. And it gave Ancelotti some space as well, as questions were being raised about his future before the match.

Several rumours have suggested that the Brazil national team is interested in appointing Ancelotti as their manager as well. Thus, all things considered, his future at Santiago Bernabeu remains up in the air.

It looks like one team that he will never consider managing is Barcelona. As reported by SPORT, Ancelotti said:

"“It’s impossible for me to coach Barcelona one day. I wouldn’t swap with Xavi. I’m lucky enough to coach Madrid, the best club in the world. I have a lot of respect for Barça and Xavi, but I’m in a place where people love me a lot.”"

Only two people in history have managed both Barcelona and Real Madrid. They are Radomir Antic and Enrique Fernandez. Do not expect to see Ancelotti joining that list.

Ancelotti has spent two stints managing at Real Madrid. The first time around, he delivered the long-awaited La Decima. And he guided the club to the Champions League title last season as well. The Italian has also guided Los Blancos to a league and a Copa del Rey, and it remains to be seen if more silverware awaits by the time this season comes to end.

Ancelotti’s place in Real Madrid history is secured. Whether he remains at the club beyond this season or not, does not really matter. He is a legend.

He would hurt his legacy though, if he ever went to Barcelona. The chances of that happening are slim to none anyway and this is all a hypothetical situation.
