Real Madrid need to bring in some reinforcements in the summer. It is quite clear that this squad is lacking in depth and cannot compete for every major trophy through the course of the campaign. Carlo Ancelotti has received a lot of criticism but considering the circumstances, he deserves a lot of credit for guiding them to the Copa del Rey final and Los Blancos have a decent chance of retaining their Champions League crown as well.
Hopefully, the club will be making some additions in the upcoming summer transfer window. But recently there have been suggestions that they are not planning to splash out.
As a result, the club should potentially keep an eye on the free agent market. And it does look like a Liverpool player is in their sights.
That player is none other that Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian has been a key player for Liverpool for years now. His contract runs out at the end of the campaign though and he is expected to leave in the summer. That provides Real Madrid a great chance.
Real Madrid interested in signing Liverpool star for free
As reported by El Nacional, Florentino Perez is already attentive to the situation of Firmino to convince him to arrive at Real Madrid.
Signing someone like Firmino would make the world of sense for Real Madrid. At 31 years of age, the Brazilian has plenty of football left in the tank. He is proven at the top level and has won everything that there is to win for Liverpool over the years. And the Brazilian has the ability to bring others into the game, as proven by his legendary partnership with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
On the other hand, Real Madrid do need some cover for Karim Benzema, who has been struggling with injuries this season.
