Real Madrid want €60 million Casemiro replacement

Casemiro shocked the footballing world by leaving Real Madrid for Manchester United in the summer. The Brazilian midfielder had been at the club for a long-time and established himself as a legend at Santiago Bernabeu. And his switch to Old Trafford come almost out of the blue, after the Red Devils had been linked with Frenkie de Jong for months.

Casemiro has done a great job at Manchester United and established himself as the best defensive midfielder in the Premier League. Of course, his quality will not come as a surprise to anyone at Real Madrid.

Los Blancos do have the task of replacing Casemiro though. Aurelien Tchouameni had done a great job initially but his form has not been great after the World Cup. And as a result, another French midfielder seems to be on the radar of Real Madrid.

As reported by Foot Mercato, Real Madrid appreciate the profile of Khephren Thuram, who they had already observed a year ago. Nice could look for a transfer fee around €60 million depending on the number of clubs concretely interested.

More than a year ago, as reported by Fichajes, Thuram was a target of Real Madrid. They wanted to strengthen the midfield in the long-term given the age of Casemiro.

Thus, Thuram is someone who Real Madrid appear to have had their eye on for a while now. And he has only gotten better with time.

He is enjoying a superb season with Nice at the moment. And at just 22 years of age, he has plenty of room to develop and get better. He is exactly the profile of player that Los Blancos have targeted in recent years and it is not hard to see why they might be interested in the French international. Teams like PSG, Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund are also rumoured to be keeping an eye on him though.
