Real Madrid’s defence is in need of some reinforcements, specifically in the full-back positions. With Ferland Mendy struggling with one injury after another, Carlo Ancelotti has been left in a bad position regarding left-back. The only natural replacement in the squad is David Alaba, however he has struggled with fitness issues himself as well.

Ancelotti has had to rely on Eduardo Camavinga or Nacho Fernandez to play at left-back in recent times. The Frenchman in particular has put in some top class performances despite being a natural midfielder.

Mendy’s time at Real Madrid could soon come to an end though with rumours suggesting that the club could consider letting the Frenchman go if an offer of at least €40 million were to arrive at their table.

With the sheer lack of depth in the position, Real Madrid could need to strengthen there. Fran Garcia is set to arrive in the summer from Rayo Vallecano, and the club could already have their eyes on another left-back.

Bayern Munich star on transfer radar of Real Madrid

As reported by MARCA, Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has been placed on the radar of Real Madrid.

Davies has just over two years left on his contract at Bayern Munich. And it remains to be seen if Real Madrid end up making an offer for him in the future or not.

The Canadian international has started regularly for Bayern Munich this season, and has been putting up good numbers for the defending Bundesliga champions.

Davies is one of the best offensive full-backs in the game right now. His standout attribute is his pace, as he is one of the fastest players across all of Europe. It would be interesting to see if he would flourish in La Liga where teams tend to sit in deep against Real Madrid.
