The upcoming summer transfer window could be a very interesting one for Real Madrid. It is remarkable that they are in the running for a Champions League and Copa del Rey double despite their clear lack of squad depth. But they cannot continue on like this, and must bring in some reinforcements in the summer.

The club have been linked with a number of players. Now, it remains to be seen how many additions they end up making in the summer.

One player that they are rumoured to be keeping their eye on is Dani Olmo of RB Leipzig. The Spanish international’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2024, meaning that he could potentially be on the move at the end of the ongoing campaign.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been linked with the Spaniard but they are not the only top European club who seem to be interested in him. As reported by Sport Bild (via Sport Witness), Manchester United are keeping tabs on Olmo.

Olmo has been a key player for RB Leipzig for some time and he has made numerous appearances for the Spanish national team as well. At the moment, he does not seem to be going through his best season though and neither are his club.

Someone like Olmo could be a great addition for Real Madrid due to his ability to play in a variety of roles. He is mostly recognised as an attacking midfielder but can play on either wing or even in the middle of the park if the situation calls for it.

That kind of versatility must be attractive for Real Madrid, who do not have a lot of options at the moment. Of course, it looks like the competition to sign Olmo is going to be tough.
