It is evident that Real Madrid’s squad is in need of some fresh faces this summer heading into next season. With the number of expiring contracts, some players getting up there in age and struggling with their fitness, Los Blancos could have gaps to fill in a number of positions in the upcoming transfer window.

They might need reinforcements all over the pitch, even if as cover. It is what Real Madrid must do if they want to keep competing with the top European teams.

Ironically, despite having eliminated Chelsea from the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League, it appears that Real Madrid are interested in signing as many as four of their players.

As reported by Fichajes, the four Chelsea players that Real Madrid are interested in signing are Reece James, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

James is a player who has been getting linked with Real Madrid a lot over the last few months. With Dani Carvajal’s form being up and down this season, and no long-term solution at right-back in the squad, the Chelsea star could be a brilliant signing for the club. It would be very difficult to pull off though, as he has a long-term contract with the Blues.

With Toni Kroos and Luka Modric in the twilight of their careers, Mount and Kovacic would be interesting signings. The Croatian spent several years at Real Madrid, before joining Chelsea. On the other hand, the Englishman has shown his quality against Los Blancos over the years.

Now in the case of Loftus-Cheek, that would be pretty much an out of the blue transfer. The midfielder is not a starter for Chelsea. He is very versatile and physical though, and could be a smart addition for a rotational role.

Real Madrid fans will be very happy with Fabrizio Romano’s update. light. Must Read
