Real Madrid could sign target for bargain €30 million fee

Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent times. The club might be in the Champions League semi-final and the Copa del Rey final, but one thing that is very clear is that they need to strengthen their options in the summer. Not only do they lack depth, but a number of their stars are getting up their in age and also struggling with fitness issues.

Real Madrid have not splashed out in recent years though. Thus, they will most probably be looking to make some smart additions.

One player that they have been linked with is Dani Olmo. He has been a key player for RB Leipzig in recent years but his current deal runs out in the summer of 2024. And it means that he could be available for a bargain transfer fee.

As reported by Sky Sport Germany (via Mundo Deportivo), RB Leipzig are set to make Olmo a final offer with a substantial financial improvement in his contract. But if he turns it down, they would agree to let him leave in the summer for a figure close to €30 million.

Someone like Olmo could be a solid addition for Real Madrid. He is a very versatile player. That will help with the club’s depth issues. He has top level experience as well, having played a key part for both RB Leipzig and the Spanish national team.

Of course, other clubs seem to be interested in Olmo as well. Manchester United are believed to be keeping an eye. While Barcelona, where he spent several years as a youth player, have been linked with him as well.

Olmo has had his injury problems in recent times though. So Real Madrid have to be careful. They already have plenty of fitness issues as things stand.
