Real Madrid fans blown away by player’s performance

Things can change very quickly in football and that is exactly what has happened with one player. Real Madrid got a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo at Santiago Bernabeu to go within eight points of Barcelona, although Carlo Ancelotti’s side have played a game more. Marco Asensio was the star of the show on this occasion.

Asensio scored the opener for Real Madrid against Celta Vigo in the 42nd minute of the game. And then, he set up Eder Militao’s goal in the 48th minute. That was enough to put the match to bed and secure all three points for Ancelotti’s side.

The form that Asensio has showed in recent times has been brilliant. And it is hard to imagine that he was even struggling to get minutes off the bench earlier this very season.

Back then, not many fans would not have been too concerned if he did leave the club. But now, it has become very important to get him to agree to a contract extension. His current deal runs out in the summer.

Not only did Asensio both score and assist against Celta Vigo but his overall performance was superb as well. The applause of the Santiago Bernabeu crowd made it clear what they think of the Spaniard and the reaction was pretty similar on social media as well.

It is starting to look like Asensio is approaching his top form once again and if he continues like this, it could be hard to keep him out of the starting XI in the future. Thus, one can only hope that the club are able to agree an extension with him soon.

There is no lack of interest in his signature though. Several top clubs have been linked with Asensio in recent times and if he was to leave, he will have plenty of options to consider.
