Real Madrid’s upcoming game against Celta Vigo this weekend might be more important than initially believed. Barcelona have been struggling for form lately. If that continues then there might be an outside chance for Los Blancos to open up the title race once again. For that to happen, they have to be pretty much perfect though.
They are on a good run of form at the moment. Recently, they qualified for the Champions League semi-finals, again, following an aggregate 4-0 win over Chelsea. Carlo Ancelotti’s side are on a three-game winning streak, and have kept three clean sheets on the trot as well.
On the other hand, Celta Vigo have been pretty much the opposite. They have not won any of their last three games and sit at 12th in the La Liga table.
Thus, Real Madrid have to be considered as the heavy favourites going into the match this weekend. They will be without one of their key players though in the form of David Alaba, who has been left out of the squad. The club tweeted out:

Real Madrid star ruled out of game against Celta Vigo
Alaba picked up an injury in the recent game against Chelsea in midweek, and had to be taken off at half-time. So, it was expected that he would not be fit to feature against Celta Vigo this weekend.
The hope is that he will recover in time to feature in the upcoming Copa del Rey final against Osasuna. Or at the very least the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Manchester City, a game which Eder Militao will miss due to suspension.
Questions had been raised about Alaba’s form after the World Cup, but he has been much better in recent weeks. Thus, one can only hope that the Austrian is back on the pitch soon.
