Los Blancos sit 11 points behind with just 8 more games to go.

Thus, Carlo Ancelotti’s side can afford to take their foot off the gas in the league. Especially with the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna and the Champions League semi-finals against Manchester City coming up next month.

Injuries have been an issue that Real Madrid have been dealing with throughout the course of the campaign. And they seem to have been handed a fresh worry in that regard.

As reported by Cope, Eden Hazard has suffered a blow to the left ankle. He will be subjected to tests to know the extent of the injury.

Hazard’s entire time at Real Madrid has had a cloud of injuries over it. The Belgian has never really been able to get a proper run in the starting XI, having had to spend so much time out on the sidelines.

As a result, Real Madrid’s all-time record signing might be the last choice winger in Ancelotti’s team right now. He was getting some minutes off the bench as a substitute lately, but now it remains to be seen how long he will be out for with his latest injury.

Hazard’s dream move to Real Madrid has turned into a nightmare over the past four years or so. And it might make sense for all parties involved to part ways. His current deal runs out in the summer of 2024 though. As a result, he might very well stay at Santiago Bernabeu for another year.
