Injuries have been a major worry for Real Madrid throughout the course of the ongoing season. The club lacked depth in the first place itself and have not been helped by players missing action. Despite that, one who has struggled for playing time is Eden Hazard. The club’s all-time record signing might very well be the last choice winger in the team right now.

Hazard’s time at Real Madrid has been filled with one injury after the other. As a result, he has never gotten a real run in the starting XI. And at this stage of his career, it just does not feel like he is capable of what he once was in the prime of his powers.

Still, when news broke out of Hazard picking up another injury, it was a blow for Real Madrid. The Belgian had been getting some minutes off the bench lately.

There is some good news regarding the situation of the Belgian though. As tweeted out by Mario Cortegana, tests carried out today have ruled out a serious injury to Hazard. Now it will depend on how he evolves, he has a good chance of being available for the game against Almeria.

Hazard has not been a key part of Real Madrid’s team this season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored a goal and provided 2 assists in 9 appearances this season till now.

But this is the right time for him to get some minutes. Real Madrid are all but out of the La Liga title race, and as a result, it would not make sense for them to play the regular starters in all of the remaining games while risking fatigue and injury.

Thus, let’s hope that Hazard is back available soon and gets to play a bit of football in the last portion of the season.
