Gavi is a player who wears his heart on his sleeve. That is something that has made him a fan favourite amongst Barcelona supporters. But for the same reasons, he is also someone who does not seem to be very popular with opposition players or supporters. And it would be safe to say that Real Madrid fans are not too fond of the Spaniard.

Gavi came through the youth ranks at Barcelona and established himself in the first-team at just 17 years of age. It is hard to believe that he is still just 18, as it feels like he has been around for a while and has already made close to a hundred appearances for the Catalan giants as well.

At the international level, Gavi has enjoyed a meteoric rise as well. And at the recent World Cup, he started every game for the Spanish national team.

Real Madrid lost their recent game against Girona by a 4-2 scoreline. And a post made by Gavi on his Instagram story did not go down too well with the Real Madrid fans.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Gavi posted an image of himself with several teammates boarding a plane in which he attached two emoticons of laughter. And he did it just after Real Madrid’s 4-2 defeat at hands of Girona.

Many on social media were quick to interpret it as a dig at Real Madrid, even though it made no reference to Los Blancos. The timing of the post of course gave people food for thought.

As things stand, Barcelona are 11 points ahead of Real Madrid in the La Liga title race, despite having played a game less than their eternal rivals. Thus, it would take a miracle for the Catalan giants to not end this season as the champions of Spain.
