Real Madrid should sign striker for free this summer
If there is one thing that has become clear over this season, it is that Real Madrid need to sign another striker soon. Karim Benzema is still one of the best in the world on his day, but he has struggled with fitness issues lately and is 35 years of age. On the other hand, Mariano Diaz looks to be on his way out in the summer when his current deal runs out. And Alvaro is just 18 years of age, and should not be put under too much pressure to deliver already.
Benzema is expected to remain at the club come next season. It would make sense for the club to bring in some back up though. And one very good striker might be available on a free transfer.
It was not too long ago that Moussa Dembele was being linked with a move to clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea for a transfer fee north of £50 million. But now, his contract with Lyon is set to run out in the summer and he is set to become a free agent.
Signing someone like Dembele could prove to be a masterstroke on the part of Real Madrid. Yes, he might have had an underwhelming spell at Atletico Madrid, but that does not mean that he cannot deliver somewhere else.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 70 goals and provided 19 assists in 171 appearances for Lyon till now.
On three occasions, Dembele has scored 20 goals or more in a season for Lyon. Before that, he was a superstar at Celtic as well. Thus, there is no doubt that the Frenchman knows the way to the back of the net even though he might have dry spells from time to time.
Someone like Dembele might not be the striker to lead the line for Real Madrid. But he can be the great as the cover option to the main man up top.
