Real Madrid’s striker situation is an interesting one at the moment. One positive this season though has been the emergence of Alvaro. The 18-year-old might not have played much for the first-team yet but in his handful of appearances, he has already shown that he is someone capable of making a contribution.

There is another young striker at the club right now though, who arrived with a lot of expectations but has had an up and down campaign. That is none other than Iker Bravo.

Bravo’s time at Real Madrid has been interesting to say the least. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in 4 UEFA Youth League games this season. But in 20 appearances for Castilla, he has only managed 2 goals.

It is quite clear that Bravo is nowhere close to the first-team yet. But at the same time, it also feels like there is a lot of untapped potential in the Spaniard. And despite his inconsistent numbers, Real Madrid appear to have high hopes.

Real Madrid agree deal with Bayer Leverkusen for striker

As reported by AS, Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Bravo have agreed to extend the loan for one more season, until June 30, 2024. The club is confident in the potential of the striker.

It is worth pointing out that it was earlier this year that Bravo turned 18. Thus, it should not come as a surprise if he takes some time to adjust to the Castilla level. His displays in the UEFA Youth League are certainly a cause for encouragement.

Let’s see what the future holds for Bravo. It looks like he will be staying on at Real Madrid for another season at least. The Spaniard has to make sure that he makes the most of the opportunity though. Otherwise, he might head back to Bayer Leverkusen soon.
