Real Madrid handed double boost for Almeria game

Real Madrid’s La Liga hopes seem to be as good as over and they will need a miracle to have any chance of retaining the league from the position that they find themselves in. Interestingly though, Barcelona have been terrible as well in recent times, winning just one of their past five games across all competitions. Thus, there could still be an outside chance for Los Blancos. Never say never in football.

They will have to be perfect from here on though and hope that Barcelona continue to drop points left, right and centre. Los Blancos’ next game is against Almeria at Santiago Bernabeu.

Having lost 4-2 against Girona in the previous game, Real Madrid surely will have a point to prove this time around. On the other hand, Almeria sit at 15th in the La Liga table and are looking to stay up in the Spanish top flight. Thus, there seems to be a lot riding on the result for them.

Real Madrid have been handed a double boost heading into the match against Almeria. As tweeted out by Sergio Quirante, Thibaut Courtois continues to recover and the club are confident that he will play at the weekend. Karim Benzema has recovered from his problem.

Those are two of Real Madrid’s most important players at this point of time. Thus, Courtois and Benzema returning would be a major boost for Los Blancos.

Benzema has been their main source of goals alongside Vinicius Junior, once again this season. On the other hand, Courtois has been exceptional in goal and might be the best in the world in his position.

Even if there might not be a lot to play for in La Liga, Real Madrid do need to build up some momentum going into the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna and the Champions League semi-finals against Manchester City.
