Real Madrid find themselves in a very interesting position right now. Depending upon what happens over the next several weeks, this will be remembered as a great season or a bad one. The club are in the final of the Copa del Rey, against Osasuna, and the semi-final of the Champions League, against Manchester City.
No matter how things end up though, one thing that is clear is that the squad needs to undergo some changes in the summer. There is a lack of depth, while at the same time, there are also a number of players who have contributed very little to the team this season. Thus, both exits and arrivals will be important.
One player who has barely featured this season is Alvaro Odriozola. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 5 appearances and played 81 minutes of football in total in the ongoing campaign.
Right-back is not an area of strength for Real Madrid. But it would not hurt them if Odriozola departed the club. On the other hand, it looks like the Spaniard is thinking the same thing as well.
Real Madrid player is ready to leave the club next summer
As reported by Relevo, Odriozola has now opened the door to an exit from Real Madrid. He contemplates a change of scenery next summer to which the club will not put an obstacle.
Odriozola was very highly rated when he signed for the club back in 2018. But things have not gone his way at Santiago Bernabeu.
He has been on loan at clubs like Bayern Munich and Fiorentina as well. And in the past, he has been linked with clubs like Juventus, AS Roma, and more, when it comes to a potential transfer move. Let’s see what the future holds for the right-back though. His current deal is believed to run till the summer of 2024.
