Real Madrid have a lack of depth all over the pitch at this point of time. One of those areas is left-back. Ferland Mendy started the campaign as the starter there but his future at the club is now in doubt. The Frenchman’s performances have raised some eyebrows this season and he has been struggling to remain fit as well. Rumours have also suggested that Los Blancos are open to the prospect of parting ways with him.

Real Madrid are already set to strengthen at left-back in the summer. Fran Garcia will be joining the club from Rayo Vallecano.

Garcia has been one of the best left-backs in La Liga this season and is someone with the ability to raise his game against top teams. Thus, he could be an excellent addition to this team.

Of course, Garcia came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid before ending up at Rayo Vallecano. Thus, he will be returning to familiar territory. And it looks like the club are keeping an eye on another former player.

Former Real Madrid player could return in the future

As reported by Relevo, Miguel Gutierrez is another left-back who may return to Valdebebas in the future. In a few years he can be a footballer with a place in the Real Madrid squad.

Gutierrez spent a long time in the Real Madrid youth set up and ultimately, he made a few appearances for the senior team as well. He was not able to become an important part of the squad though and left last summer in order to join Girona.

Gutierrez has done a great job at Girona and it is not hard to see why Real Madrid might be keeping an eye on him as well. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 1 goal and provided 4 assists in 29 appearances this season.
